Grommit... what a little punk you were. You peed on the bed when you first met your ma as if that alone would seal your fate. You didn't need to do that, but it's how you rolled. Everywhere you went... people wanted to touch you and you weren't fond of the kiddies either (see Tim's message). Every Spring Lake loop you were showered with compliments... Scout never got that many! You were a handsome dog and you acted like you knew it, even reveled in it at times, and that's why you were so loved. You were my first dog, too, and through you I learned what amazing dog could be. What set you apart, esp as a pup, was your mask-markings. Artists could not have painted them on better! I missed you for a long time but loved that you were so well taken care of. RIP G. We still smile with you! |

Hi Grommit. I've had so much fun getting to know you. And you did give me a challenge, but it made it all the more rewarding as you slowly let me be in your circle. I can remember the first time I tried to put a collar around your head and how you let me know that wasn't going to be an option. So we worked out our own system and perfected it. And every time I came to your house I could always count on your smiling face and excitement in your tail. And then you would howl to let me know it was time for some action. One of my favorite memories is when one evening when I was flipping through music videos on tv, and found some old song. I started singing, and then you started singing. And we went on like that for a while. That was one of the coolest moments ever. I love you little buddy. Thanks for being my friend and making me smile. |

Grommits, Remember you used to come snuggle with me on the couch in the morning when nobody else was looking? And then sometimes when Laura wasn't around you'd come over for pets... but then as soon as she got home you'd start acting punky and yell at me for moving my arms too fast or lively dancing. I wasn't trying to hurt Laura! I never got to give you that hug from behind I promised you. I'll miss you buddy. Matthew |

Grommit, You are amongst the few animals who has convinced me to call them by their real name, not just Mr. <Animal Type>. Sorry for being not much a dog lover, but thank you for showing me how an animal can shine with your strong personality and the love and companionship you showed to your owners. |

Grommit! You sometimes tried to bite me but that is why I loved you! It was a challenge getting you to kinda like me. In the end, I like to think you did like me (in a Grommit kinda way - like "I like you ok, but stay a way fool, rrrrrgh"). Regardless, I loved you the same and will miss you here on earth! |

Grommit- I never got to really know you or touch your beautiful fur but I thank you for all the love and companionship you gave my daughter. You will be missed so much by so many. You are not gone, you will be with us forever. |

Grommit, you were with me for your whole life, and a big portion of my life. You were my friend, confidant, supporter, comforter, protector, and loving companion. You stood by my side through relationships, moves, career changes; through all of the ups and downs, you were there. You presented me with challenges-- you were not an easy dog to own. You were a private dog who opened yourself up to a select few. However, to those who earned your trust and care, you were a sweet and funny boy. You were most content when your pack was home and all was calm. I have sooooo many stories about you, but I'll share one of my favorites. One Christmastime (you loved Christmas, but that was also one of the times of the year when you did some naughty things!), we got a gift for you in the mail. I asked the sender if it had any food items and she said it did not. I put it under the tree for you to await for Christmas morning. Then, a day or two later upon coming home from work, I noticed the box in the middle of the floor, gnawed open (it was a pretty thick cardboard box, so I know you really worked at it) and the contents *gone*. I also noticed a lot of dirt in the house, especially on the sofa and on my bed. Upon going outside, I could tell you had a tummyache (I appreciate you going outside for that at least). Darn it Grommit, you had opened your present early, ate some of the treats, buried some, then reburied them in the house. Turns out "no food items" meant "dog treats". You were such a stinker, but honestly, I'd be lying if I said I never secretly opened a Christmas present early, so I can't blame you! My time with you shaped who I am today. I will always remember you, always miss you, and always love you- more than I could ever express in words. |

Grommit, you were the best dog ever! I miss you so much! We shared some great times together, especially in the last couple of years. I'm so glad I got to really know you for the amazing dog that you are. As much as I miss you right now, I feel better knowing you're in a better place now with God. I love you Grommit and you'll always be in my heart... |
